Well, on thanksgiving break, tis quite fun, I guess. Going to be spending most of it packing if all goes well, we've got so much shit that it's probably going to take longer than any of us expect. Hopefully we'll have the majority of it done by next week.

Did a treehouse show friday at soldier's, went pretty well. The play was called The Baltimore Waltz, it was good... hard to follow, but good. It was apparently their last show there at the theater, except for if they help when the class does the show, and I'm hoping they do help. Went and saw Walk The Line with Nathan and Erin sunday night, it was excellent, as was Joaquin Phoenix's performance. It's a shame that it took so long to do a movie about such an incredible artist, yet talentless morons like 50 cent and Eminem already have shittastic movies made about themselves. And so far I haven't heard of anyone getting shot at a showing of Walk The Line... it's hard to believe that police officers are having to be stationed at fucking movie theaters to prevent people from shooting each other, it's unfortunate that the people that see his crappy movie have better aim than all those that have shot him in the past.

Communism is awesome.

Currently listening to Mesmerize and Hypnotize together as one album; which, I guess, is how it's supposed to be listened to. Both are excellent albums, and shows that a group can actually explore and expand their sound without completely changing it to earn more money... *cough*. Songs such as Soldier Side and Lonely Day show that System is far more than just the incomprehensible yelling that people portray them as.

Well, anyway.

"I'm not a metalhead, but I think this (Vulgar Display of Power) is one of the most important metal albums ever. The concept of a mosh pit would be nowhere without Pantera. And there's an entire world of tight-pants-wearing hardcore kids who now owe their entire catalog to Pantera."
-Patrick Stump, Fall Out Boy.

Ignorance is funny.

I find it somewhat humourous that this livejournal has a huge gap between when I started at the theatre this summer and this point now. Shitty summer to say the least, a few good things came out of it (a couple quite awesome ones) but on the whole, I lost all respect for TWV within a three months span. Fun.

So started college, pretty cool, not as nearly hard as one might think (or maybe I'm just at a shitty school, which is really a possibility). At WVU Tech at the moment, seriously contemplating transfering to Concord after this semester or after the end of my first year of school, either one, probably the later.

So....yeah.

So yeah, show tonight. At Soldier's Memorial Theatre, 200 South Kanawa St. if you needed the exact address. Tis at 7:30 tonight and tomorrow night. Two shows, one called The Philadephia and another called Constantinople Smith, both comedies; Nathan Colburn and David Bumgarner are also gonna be playing music. Admission is free, food is free (I think), make a donation if you'd like.

go go gadget shameless plug.

Start work out at grandview monday, which means the end of school/beginning of summer and also that I've graduated from high school. Cool beans...

Anyway...

hey... has been awhile. Haven't really felt like posting lately, but I figure I have nothing better to do at the moment, besides practice. Anyway, prison show is monday, even though it is a relief that we aren't performing to a crowd full of felons that did something henious enough to be interred in not just a state, but a federal prison - like, shooting a judge, a cop or going down to Bluefield and killing someone and then going to Bluefield Redux across the state line then whacking someone there - but to a crowd of employees at a training...center (I think), I still think it's going to go over like a led zeppelin, might just be the small bit of pessimist in me, but I'm just not entirely sure of it. Twas nice of cori's mum to set this up though, so we can actually be the 'touring company' we claim to be all the damn time.

Starting out to twv in..eleven days, cool beans. But doing a show at smt before then. Tis on the 13th and 14th, admission is free, so if you have nothing else to do next weekend, come see the shows.

New season of Family Guy started...last sunday, and since I don't really watch tv, I just...watch it on my computer, I downloaded it afterwards. Twas quite a good episode, nothing compared to the 3rd season, but it had a couple good jokes, especially the brit porn (any british joke is bound to be good) and the whole interaction with stewie and brian, I really hope they do more episodes with them together, but not in the same vein as the 'Road to Rhode Island' and 'Rode To Europe'. The first PotC bit was just a waste of a great opportunity for a funny bit, the trailer for the sequel was awesome though. And the 'christians don't believe in gravity' was pretty...stupid to me, I mean, I don't mind religious jokes, and family guy has its fair share of hilarious ones, but it was really forced and un-funny. The return of the paedophile was good, but putting the greased-up deaf guy and Ollie Williams in the first ep made it seem like they just wanted to cram as many of the old guest characters in as possible. The first time Ollie Williams was in the show it was freaking hilarious, because you didn't see it coming, was an obvious take on Al Roker(sp, don't really care to check the spelling either) and was germane to the news report, but I think they just pulled the 'punishment forecast' out of their ass in a vain attempt to put Ollie in. I just think they blew their wad on greased-up deaf guy and ollie, they should've saved them for a better bit :\

Only four more eps in 24, gasp, this season is really kicking ass as well.

Holy hell.

Anyway. No particular order )

All right, so, show tonight, cool beans. Intermediate went well last night, Rebecca only dropped one line and I didn't really suck at the end. Our show went well as....well, but because Jeff was alone up in the booth he couldn't fade tracks and do lights at the same time, but this problem has been fixed. So, should be good, tis a shame only mum is going to be able to make it, but, eh.

So I gave into temptation and downloaded Bruce's new album, I was browsing a metal torrent site and I saw it...I thought about it for a minute..and then downloaded it. I have every intention of buying it when it's in stores, but waiting until may 23rd? hell no. It's a pretty awesome album, some of the best singing I've heard from Bruce in years, tis amazing that he's been singing for nearly 30 years and his voice is still absurdly powerful.

Anyway..

Woot.. bruce dickinson has a new album coming out may 23rd...which is more than a month away, dammit. From what people have said, it's freakin awesome, so I shall have a hard time waiting. I'm having a hard time trying not to breakdown and download it, since it's already on the internet.

And for those of you who give a damn/enjoyed half life 2, valve is in the process of a making an expansion, entitled "Aftermath". Personally, I couldn't give a rat's ass since I didn't finish hl2, but hey, why can't valve go the way of id and make an expansion too? Even though id owns the hell out of valve.

Umm, the library was..fun, got a crapload of books from the history section, so pretty much the only thing left are a bunch of shitty biographies that no one will give a damn about. Unless there is an undiscovered pocket of Lana Turner fans here in beckley. I only found four swastikas... how dissapointing, the prize for swastika fiction book goes to "Ice Reich" though, that looked like a keeper.

Well..anyway.

Wow, I'm really tired, and I have to get up tomorrow and move a crapload of books around a library basement, awesome, at least I'll be able to hijack more of the library's history books. I'm also going to do a count of how many fiction books have a swastika on them, because I don't know if you've ever noticed, but there are a damn lot of books that have a swastika on them, for absolutely no apparent reason. Like some book named "Murder in New Hampshire" or "I Remember Cecil" will have a swastika on it, doesn't make a lot of sense. But last time I counted 6 or 7, we'll see how tomorrow goes...

Twv performance is next friday...damn, kind of snuck up on me, I guess our show is going okay, intermediate is going well, except for the girl that doesn't give a damn and doesn't show up. Got the music done for our show, and someone was actually nice enough to thank me for it. I mean, I don't do it so people will come up to me and be like "yo, josh, you hot shit, nice job", I don't want praise, it actually makes me feel awkward when marina makes people shut up so I can play music for her, don't want people to be like "yo, fuck him and his music". I just want the show to be entertaining and not have long, boring, musicless gaps, and the fact that some people appreciate it makes it seem not-useless to me. Sunday I get to spend 8 hours at mabscott, awesome, I'll be taking the guitar to give me something to do. Apparently there is word of pizza being ordered, and where pizza is ordered, fun is to be had.

Gave mc a cd of a bunch of maiden albums and the rock in rio dvd, and margaret a rammstein collection, hopefully they enjoy them, twould be nice to have more people into the music I like, and just not to fit in, like all these girls running around in back in black shirts because they sell them at jc penny... speaking of which, one of the guys in intermediate is an maiden fan, pretty sweet. He asked me if I was going to ozzfest this year, nah I says, then he said maiden was going to play, which I wasn't aware of, guess he asked because he heard my acoustic rendition of phantom of the opera the other night at class, pretty damn cool.

Saw sarah today at mabscott, twas nice seeing her again, fortunately she's coming back to the theatre this summer, look forward to that... and still have to write my program biography...bah

Aight, well, I'm going to bed...

So, it looks like, I'll be working at twv after all. Shannon emailed me yesterday with an offer to be an actual carpenter, not a intern, and with a lot higher salary, couldn't turn it down, and I didn't. Starts on May 16, and goes until August 28th, with the usual ungodly hours, but should be cool, looking forward to it, and with having to drive 15, 20 minutes on the interstate there and back, twill be a good opportunity to rack up the driving time...

So yeah...easter, twas good, mum made dinner, twas great, potato and green brean casserole are my reason for living sometimes...

Nathan got back from ny sunday, took a crapload of pictures, has one of him riding the wall street bull, and standing where rage played in the sleep now in the fire video, friggin sweet :)

-okay...never mind, they didn't.-

Still freakin bored, just can't think of anything to do, and being sick doesn't help that much I guess. All I've done this weekend is play guitar, play the ee2 demo a lot and shove numerous wads of kleenex up my nose, it's been great.

Well, doesn't look like I shall be working at twv this summer, so I'll have to find some other form of job, josh offered me a job out at glade springs, 6 dollars an hour, plus tips, working in a coffeeshop, I think? Only problem is the "plus tips" thing means I'll be waiting on people, something I hate. Dealing with the public isn't one of my many fortes, especially 'rich', 'important' people. And besides the fact that I'd get my ass kicked with buying gas, there's another variable I have to consider..so yeah.

Watched office space again today, twas good, tis a shame that ron livingston doesn't do more movies, he's a rariety in that he's entertaining in and of himself.

Anyway..

I'm so freaking bored... the minifest thing was kind of stressful, but at least it gave me something to do, and unlike a lot of the stuff I do, it was worth a damn, and people noticed...or...didn't notice, guess it's better when people don't notice technical things...kind of like when you're a navy seal...or something. Thanks to all of you who went, hope you enjoyed the shows. Check out the site - http://treehouseartsensemble.org/ - to see what's coming up.... in the future /shameless plug.

Umm...acting class, marina got pissed yesterday, which I found somewhat humourous, because I knew it was coming, twas just a matter of time. Reminds me of the time she got so pissed about the skateboard...and noise. Intermediate class is going well, I think, tis kind of weird to be in a play you've done before, but be a different character and have a lot of the blocking completely different, and there are only 5 people in the class besides me, so there's a lot of double casting..

Think I'm sick...or just having nasal problems...bah. But I did get all my computer troubles fixed, so that's a plus...yes

"And God said to Abraham, 'You will kill your son Issac.' And Abraham said, 'I can't hear you, you'll have to speak into the microphone.' And God said, 'Oh, I'm sorry, is this better? Check, check. Check. Jerry, pull the high end out, I'm still getting some hiss back here.'"

You've got me in a spin, but ev'ryfin is a-okay"

Got this song stuck in my head, which is a good thing I guess, at least it's not...something fron Annie...or a disney children's movie...

I'm tired, again.

I'm... tired, not so much cranky/aggravated though. Minifest....twwwwwwwwo is coming along well, I think, just glad wyoming east is doing their own tech stuff, I'll be damned if I was going to do anything else. I'm already about to have a brain aneurism having to do lights for chad curtis, along with working two cd players playing different stuff at the same time. then pete's show, and then mc's.

But technology gave us a resounding middle finger tonight... whenever I dropped the lights past a certain point, the sound board turned off... lights back up? sound board turns back on. But the most terrifically amazing part? Being able to turn the lights up higher and have the music get louder - amazing. Telsa would be simply dumbfounded if he were still alive....yeah. Got it all fixed though, and I'm going in early tomorrow to run the show by myself, lights, sound...etc. before rehersal time comes again and I fuck up the shows with style and flair.

Anyway..the show is 7:30 Friday and Saturday, doors open at 7. Five dollars to get in, the leaving part, however, is free. Tell your friends, even your parents if you want. And if you listen really carefully during the show, you might hear me above you cursing softly.

I look forward to the futon tonight...
